The release date for MOB Entertainment’s new multiplayer horror game Project: Playtime has been revealed in a new gameplay trailer. The spin-off Poppy Playtime will begin Early Access on PC via Steam on December 6th and will take players on a terrifying adventure to the infamous Playtime Co. toy factory. The minute-long gameplay trailer offers a glimpse into the highly anticipated free-to-play multiplayer game that will allow players to take on the roles of both humans and monsters.
Project: Playtime is the next installment in the Poppy Playtime universe. Unlike the first chapters in the series, the spin-off will add new elements of cooperative play and challenge players to take on the role of giant monsters in Playtime Co, a dangerous toy factory where monsters live in toy form. The game uses a formula in which six players become resource extraction specialists and use all the methods of survival against the manic creatures that devastate the factory.
The upcoming title features some of the most iconic monsters we’ve seen on the show so far, including Huggy Waggie, Boxy Boo, and Mommy Long Legs. All of these monsters have their own set of unique skills and abilities that will help players hunt specialists while “playing”.
The latest trailer shows the gameplay of the multiplayer horror game, where six players are tasked with collecting various parts to create a giant toy, with one of them taking on the role of a huge monster. In the process, Project: Playtime also throws everything in its path, including some of the most bizarre challenges we’ve come across in previous games set in the world of Poppy Playtime.
The developers have also released a new cinematic trailer showing off the resource miners in their strange costumes. The video begins with little Huggy Waggi coming to life until being smashed by a specialist, who then starts running as the larger, scarier Huggy Waggi starts chasing them down the factory corridors.
Poppy: Playtime has taken the world by storm since the launch of the first game. The popular horror game, which was even recreated in Fortnite back in May 2022, takes players to an abandoned toy factory where they try to survive by solving puzzles and escaping giant toy creatures. Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 followed up on the first game and debuted on Steam as paid DLC a few months ago.
The second chapter expands on the first game and introduces a new villain, Mommy Legs, as well as new monsters and challenges that force players to find new ways to improve their chances of survival as they try to escape the nightmarish toy factory. Chapter 3, on the other hand, is the next installment called Project: Playtime, which will be released in Early Access on December 6th.
